The AI for All: Essentials for Students program, powered by Amii, invites public Canadian universities, colleges, and polytechnics to join a national consortium. Member institutions receive 100% free access to standardized learning materials, faculty resources, research insights, and professional development networks designed to seamlessly integrate into existing programs and courses.

Essentials for Students

A foundational 3-hour course designed for easy upload into any institutional Learning Management System (LMS) in a variety of file formats. The content requires no prior technical background and offers an accessible, discipline-agnostic introduction to AI concepts, ethics, and practical applications. The course is provided under a CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license, allowing educators and leadership to remix, transform, and build on the material to best fit their program, course, or institution.

Discipline-Specific Curriculum Resource Packages

Plug-and-play instructional materials tailored to integrate directly into existing domain coursework, such as AI in Nursing, AI in Accounting, AI in Logistics and more. Members can apply to collaborate on additional curriculum resource packages to serve the needs of their students and faculty. Resources include reading lists, activities, assessments, and conversation guides — not new courses or online modules. Resources complement faculty-developed content, courses, and programs.

Exclusive Workforce Research Access

Gain full access to evidence-based research studies and data reports examining the future of work, labour market shifts, and employer skill demands funded directly through the program.

A Connected National Academic Network

Join a collaborative community of faculty, instructional designers, and academic leads representing universities, polytechnics, and colleges from every region of Canada.

Direct Collaboration with Amii ML Educators and Scientists

Opportunity for academic and administrative staff to work alongside Amii’s ML Educators, ML Scientists, and AI Literacy Specialists to co-develop, refine, and modernize specialized course resources.

Eligibility & How to Join

Participation in the AI for All: Essentials for Students Consortium is fully funded and free of charge for accepted Canadian public institutions.

Institutional Eligibility

  • Open to all public Canadian post-secondary institutions, including universities, colleges, polytechnics, and specialized institutes.
  • Applications are welcomed from academic leadership, department chairs, and academic staff across all designations (tenured faculty, sessional instructors, and clinical educators).

This combined initiative ensures that Canadian students learn AI on Canadian terms, free from commercial influence, vendor bias, or external data tracking:

No Corporate Tools Taught

Program content focuses exclusively on universal computational concepts, ethical auditing, and critical thinking, never vendor-specific software tutorials or commercial products — unless requested by faculty subject matter experts for a specific course or program with integrated domain-specific tooling.

No Corporate Branding

All student-facing content, videos, and curriculum packages are strictly non-commercial and contain zero for-profit corporate logos or third-party sponsor ads.

100% Data Privacy & Zero External Reporting

Zero student data, performance metrics, or institutional reports are shared with any corporate entity. All data remains strictly protected within public Canadian governance frameworks. Participating institutions must complete an annual survey with self-reported data related to student engagement that Amii aggregates and anonymizes to provide updates to a variety of funders.
